Our Distinctives
The name of our ministry, Gospelize Cambodia, is intended to summarize our two-fold aim in ministry: to evangelize and establish. We desire to participate in the effort to reach Cambodia by evangelizing unbelievers and firmly establishing new churches in the faith. And, both happen through ongoing preaching and application of the gospel to all of life (e.g., Col.1:28-29). We intend to preach the gospel in order to establish a gospel people. Hence, we desire to gospelize Cambodia.
So, what is our strategy for doing this? How will we aim to gospelize Cambodia?
Theologically Driven Missiology
As a team, we believe the primary calling of ministers is the preaching of the word and administration of the ordinances. Therefore, we place great value upon developing theological competency and a missiology that is informed and driven by theological clarity and convictions.
Khmer Language Learning
The team members of Gospelize Cambodia believe linguistic fluency is foundational and necessary to effectively evangelize, preach and teach the word, and disciple Khmer believers. Therefore, we will dedicate the necessary time, energy and resources to properly communicate in the native tongue to the people to whom we will minister.
Planting New Churches
We believe it is the local church that is the primary, God-ordained means of bearing witness to his gospel. Therefore, Gospelize Cambodia team members will actively serve within local churches and labor to establish local churches in regions where there are none.
Holistic Discipleship
We believe a holistic approach to discipling new believers is paramount to establishing a vibrant witness to the kingdom of God in Cambodia. By holistic we mean: (1) believers who are equipped in the word and spiritual disciplines, (2) believers who learn to integrate their faith with all they do, and (3) believers who demonstrate the power of the gospel in both word and deed.
Training for Pastoral Leadership
We believe that one of the most helpful ways we can assist in establishing a long-term contextualized Christian presence in Cambodia is by training Cambodian men to plant churches and serve as pastors of congregations.
